The initial phase of work on the 285-acre site will build 14,000 sq ft of offices and 21,000 sq ft of light industrial hybrid accommodation.

Stephen Holme, managing director of Express Park Developments Northern, said: “The initial phase will accommodate small to medium sized businesses, and judging by the interest so far, all the premises could be sold by the time they are completed.”

The Waterfront Development will include 471 lakeside properties, a hotel, restaurant and bar, golf course and retail facilities when completed.

Subject to planning consent, construction on the initial phase will begin at the end of the summer.
